Today we are pleased to unveil Trakref’s new API: a major milestone in our product journey that makes it easier than ever before for organizations to reduce harmful refrigerant leaks through better refrigerant tracking and management.
Available now, the new API empowers customers to seamlessly integrate Trakref data, work orders, reporting (and more!) with Fexa’s CMMS or any other third-party CMMS work order management platform.
New API Functionality
The Trakref API provides access to all core functionality of the Trakref platform. The API may be used by application developers to integrate any third-party system with Trakref and supports some combination of create, read, and update operations on all core objects. The API utilizes the Trakref internal proprietary compliance rules engine that implements a protocol for complying with federal and state regulations governing the management and use of refrigerant gas.
The API eliminates the need for duplicate data entry between Trakref and other applications and links corresponding activity within Trakref and other applications to reduce the issue of missing or mismatched data between disparate systems.
Synchronizing Data Between Trakref and Any CMMS
This enables, for example, the creation of a relevant leak inspection from within a third-party system automatically triggering the creation of a corresponding work order and service event for each impacted asset within Trakref. System administrators will then be able to view Trakref asset, work order, and service event data–such as leak inspection results and the addition of refrigerant–within their third-party systems. Finally, the API will enable system administrators to automatically close a corresponding work order in Trakref when its corresponding work order is closed within the CMMS.
Use of the new API will allow Trakref customers to more easily audit and maintain consistency across systems and ensure that all necessary compliance steps have been completed.
The image above shows how the Trakref API exposes Trakref service event data within the CMMS, making it easier for customers to confirm that compliance activities have been completed before simultaneously closing the work order across both systems.
“Intensifying HFC regulations at the federal and state levels emphasize the critical role of refrigerant management within the broader facility management domain. We’re thrilled to be able to provide this API to make it easier for our customers to synchronize data between systems and ensure their technicians are completing all necessary leak repairs, inspections, and documentation to maintain audit-ready compliance,” said Steven Blumenfeld, Vice President of Fexa and General Manager of Trakref.
Fexa CMMS + Trakref Integration
Fexa CMMS is also releasing a Trakref integration module, to be available in early Q1 2025, which leverages the new Trakref API to offer the unmatched flexibility of Fexa’s cutting-edge facilities management platform and Trakref’s best-in-class compliance rules engine from a single solution provider.
“Multi-site operators need a system of record that is both flexible enough to evolve with their changing business needs and prescriptive enough to keep up with changing regulations. The Fexa CMMS and Trakref integration offers customers a combined solution that empowers them to manage every place, person, process, and policy that matters now – and in the future” said Kurt Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Fexa.
Why Refrigerant Tracking Matters
New rules under the AIM Act announced this week further emphasize the critical importance of effective refrigerant management to reduce the harmful cost, carbon, and compliance implications of unmitigated refrigerant leaks. We understand and appreciate the important actions that Facility Managers must take to transform ambitious climate goals and new regulations into facility-level impact. With our latest API innovation, our Trakref team is proud to help make it easier than ever to integrate refrigerant management into your operations.
