Summary
As a member of our Accounting team, you know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. Your position starts with recurring monthly accounting and reporting activities but with a consistent focus on ways to drive better decisions through actionable information. For you “Closing the books” enables a deeper understanding of the business and you are continually looking for opportunities to improve our processes. You’re a savvy accountant who understands the business and can proactively communicate what is needed. A collaborator at heart, you collaborate cross-functionally, evangelize best practices, move fast while paying attention to detail, and flex your problem-solving muscle to support our business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheet, income statements and cash flow.
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including reconciliation of accounts and resolutions of discrepancies.
- Maintain state sales tax compliance including sales and payroll tax.
- Ownership of the accounts receivable cycle, from invoice to receipt.
- Ownership of the accounts payable cycle, from invoice to payment.
- Ownership of the payroll processing cycle.
- Work collaboratively with the accounting team and other departments to understand business processes and ad hoc projects as requested.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
- Coordinate requests and questions from external auditors.
- Initiate and lead projects that are focused on improving efficiencies across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience
- 3-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-tech environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Understanding the principles of GAAP and GAAP financial statements.
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to deliver timely and accurate products in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Experience with SaaS based financial and accounting software preferred, Sage Intacct and Sage Intacct Contracts module is a plus but not required, Ramp and Bill.com.
- General ledger and related reconciliation experience.
- Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
- Ability to work remotely.
