What is the opportunity?
We’re looking for a passionate and analytically minded professional to join Fexa’s Finance team as our first Strategic Finance leader to support the growth of our multi-product SAAS platform.
You will be the founding member of the Strategic Finance team which will be responsible for (1) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and (2) for driving strategy and analytics to support the GTM team and the company‘s key strategic initiatives. This high impact, highly visible role sits in the Finance org reporting to the CFO. You will set the foundation of the FP&A organization and develop the processes and systems for financial planning, forecasting and budgeting which will enable the Company to scale. You will drive strategic decision-making by improving visibility into business performance and leveraging data-driven insights to shape GTM strategy. This role is expected to grow and expand in responsibility at a rapid pace as the company grows.
The Finance org at Fexa is a tight-knit team spanning Accounting, Finance and Revenue Operations and has an outsized cross-functional impact and ownership. The ideal candidate will not only have excellent technical skills but also strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and present to all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be a strategic and analytical partner to Accounting, Finance & Revenue Operations
- Build the FP&A function from the ground up and oversee the Company’s budgeting and forecasting process
- Define and report on the key business metrics (including SAAS metrics), proactively analyze business trends and identify opportunities to improve financial performance (eg. revenue optimization, pricing strategy, cost efficiency, and margin improvement)
- Establish top-line performance metrics and targets, analyze and report realized financial performance vs. budget to Company leadership and drive accountability for results
- Provide the executive team with strategic financial guidance and insights to by quantifying the financial implications of key decisions (eg. resource investments, spend allocation, business planning, etc.)
- Oversee creation of monthly and quarterly board materials and business performance reviews
- Drive revenue/GTM analytics across Sales/Customer Success & Marketing in collaboration with our Head of Revenue Operations
- Operationalize and lead the company through long-term (multi-year) and short-term (annually or semi-annually) planning processes.
- Lead ad-hoc strategic projects like pricing/packaging strategy, M&A due diligence, and business case/opportunity sizing for new market/new product exploration
Competencies & Experience
- Problem Solving: Ability to think critically about a problem, quickly get to the right question,, understand the inputs required to solve it, and frame a set of options. Ability to clearly synthesize disparate information into the “so what” in a quick, 80/20 way that is hypothesis driven.
- Communication: Ability to have deep conversations with prospects, customers, colleagues, and other market participants from the front line to the C-suite. Great listener who knows how to ask great questions and cut to the most important issues. Excellent written and verbal communicator that is able to tailor the message to the audience, communicate succinctly the most relevant points, and go deep when necessary.
- Analytical: Defaults to evidence-based reasoning. Highly competent in analyzing data to inform an answer. Creative in creating or sourcing data to provide information to increase the fidelity of an answer.

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, strategic finance, or related fields.
- Experience and passion for high-growth SaaS and/or enterprise software business models and collaborating with SaaS sales teams.
- Extreme sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity and an ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment.
- Experience problem-solving independently, organizing workload and priorities, and completing tasks on time.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to navigate cross-functional collaborations effectively and influence company executives.
- Advanced financial modeling techniques and abilities with a deep understanding of best financial modeling practices (you should be prepared for a financial model case study).
- Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, concise reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is must but an equally important ability to see the big picture and evaluate analyses with strategic business context.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
- Experience and proficiency in Intacct is a plus but not required.
- Understanding the principles of GAAP and GAAP financial statements.
